"Grow Green, Live Clean"

This program was designed to be a part of a comprehensive solution to communities that are food insecure . The GGLC project is adaptable to all age groups from Pre-K through adulthood.   Our pilot was launched in March of 2017 at Cody High School in Detroit, Michigan.  "Who says kids don't like vegetables?"  Student participants learn gardening fundamentals accompanied by curriculum that reiterate their current science studies.  Participants plant, grow, harvest and EAT.  This program is ideal for Special Needs students because it provides a hands on experience.  We grow plant varieties that are both nutrient dense and different from the standard offerings in the cafeteria.  Sorrel is a favorite, although it packs a huge lemony punch.

DCDY Project - 

Principal Hall-King was gracious enough to allow BTR Solutions to take up residence of their green house after loosing their science teacher.  4 Tower Gardens were installed, seeds planted in rock wool and mature seedlings placed in the towers.  We have not looked back since. We have successfully grown tomatoes, kale, spinach, strawberries, swiss chard, arugula, sorrel, rosemary thyme, bibb lettuce just to name a few, ALL YEAR LONG.  To add additional nutritional value


PGLA OProject 

BTR Solutions began working with GLA in September 2017.  Installing two Tower Gardens to compliment their science program was part of the effort to change the image and proceed with innovative technology for the students.  Their principal, Sean Waters, is a visionary who welcomed the opportunity to make this experience available to their students.  The students at GLA are bright, inquisitive and eager to learn.  Classes are lively and constructive and help to augment their current curriculum.

February 2017 marked the beginning of the 4th grade science experience of agriculture and nutritional health.  Our work at Laurus Academy marks our largest program to date with 90 student participants.  These students are bright, attentive and love learning.  Everyone loves vegetables and cannot wait to eat what they have planted, monitored, cared for and grown to maturity.
