Here are a few things we have been working on since 2014.

This was a very exciting day to present our "Get Ready, Get Set, Go!" workshop to the graduating class of 2015.  This workshop provides tips on transitioning from high school into the independence oflife at a university or trade school.  Our advice centers around making decisions before you have to make a costly choice.  Preparation begins the day after they graduate to get prepared academically, having the tools necessary and supplies required to succeed.  We also advise on more practical matters, like the importance of meeting professors and what office hours are, and how they are used.  We discuss the hierarchy of the university, why it is important to know and how to navigate it.  Many students left feeling overwhelmed and grateful that they were armed with the information they needed and felt as though they were better prepared for this new stage in their life.

BTR Golf Outing Fundraiser 2015

BTR Golf Outing Fundraiser 2015

Our first golf outing fundraiser

Our first golf outing fundraiser was supported by the best and most experienced fire fighters (Detroit Fire Department), friends and family.  The rainy weather held off and a great time was had by all.  The golfers were met with hot towels to enjoy their steak lunch and enjoy coming together for such a great cause. Over $2,000 was raised.  We look forward to the opportunity to fellowship again.

America Divided Screening and Panel Discussion 2017

America Divided

America Divided is an, in your face, about the plight of minority children in this country.  BTR remains hopeful by just being able to gather and determine solutions to pursue, will assist all children to choose to be non biased nor judgmental.  The world we live in dictates that we make a concerted effort to move into the future together, disregarding race, economics or perceived social standing.

Grow Green, Live Clean!

Project -  detroit, michigan

On March 31st BTR installed four Tower Gardens in Detroit, Michigan.  We have presented many series of workshops to the students and student athletes regarding social issues and manners & dinning.  In all of our workshops there is an underlying theme for students to be prepared to make the right decision, every time, as to not jeopardize meeting or exceeding their goals.  Just as we take painstaking care of our crops, from seed to harvest, so should they take painstaking care of themselves.  They should carefully consider what they put into their bodies, just as they consider what their plant will need to grow healthy and strong.  We look forward to expanding this project Detroit and to many other schools in the area.
